Setting Up 4Freedom Secure SIM (iOS)

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

First, insert the SIM card into the device or install the eSIM and select it.

Step 2

Go to Settings

Select Cellular

Step 3

Activate Cellular Data

Then Tap Cellular Data Options

Step 4

Activate Data Roaming

Then tap Voice & Data

Step 5

Choose 5G On or 5G Auto, depending on how concerned you are about battery life.

Step 6

Go back to Cellular Data Options

Tap Data Mode

Select Allow More Data on 5G

Go back to Cellular

Tap Network Selection

Make sure Automatic is Activated

If you have the US & European SIM card then you may skip to Step 11. Otherwise, please continue to Step 8.

Go back to Cellular

Tap Cellular Data Network

Change the Cellular Data APN to “globaldata” or “tn1”

Change the LTE Setup APN to “global data” or “tn1”

If you have a US & European SIM card, then your APN should automatically be set to “internet”. If it has not been automatically set, then please manually set it to “internet”.

Be sure to delete all other information in these two sections.

There should be no username or password entered in either of these sections.

Step 10

To use your device as a personal hotspot

If you have a US & European SIM card, please set the Personal HotSpot APN to “internet”.

Otherwise, please set the Personal HotSpot APN  to “globaldata” or “tn1”

Be sure to delete all other information in this Personal HotSpot section.

There should be no username or password.

Do not change anything else in this screen.

Step 11

Go back to the Settings Menu.

To test the connection to the mobile network,

Deactivate WiFi (if it has been activated)

Step 12

At the top right of the screen,

Signal strength should be visible

And you should see 5G, 4G+, 4G or LTE

If you see the letter ‘R’ or ‘r’,

please ignore it.

Step 13

If at the top right of the screen,

Signal strength is not visible or is very low,

Or if you see 3G,

Most likely your device has not yet updated its connection settings.

Please turn the device off for 60 seconds

And then turn it back on again.

This will cause the device to re-register on the networks, and you should see 5G, 4G, or LTE appear.

Step 14

Finally, you may test that connectivity

Is working well by opening a browser and

Going to your favorite webpage

If the site loads quickly, then your

4Freedom Mobile SIM card is working correctly.
