To use 4Freedom Mobile’s secure mobile service, all calls and messages must be sent using the 4Freedom Mobile app. Your ‘Phone’ and ‘Messages’ apps will not work with 4Freedom Mobile because they use voice and sms technologies that are fundamentally not secure.

When you look at an individual contact in the 4Freedom Mobile(Volta) app, you will see 4 buttons: Call, Video, Chat and Volta Out:
- The “Call” and “Video” buttons are for making end-to-end encrypted audio and video calls with other Volta Wireless users.
- To call non-Volta users, please tap the “Volta Out” button.
- To send and receive messages both with Volta users and non-Volta users, please use the “Chat” functionality. Non-Volta users will send and receive messages with you through their ‘Messages’ SMS app, while you will send and receive all messages in your Volta Wireless app.
